Privacy Policy

Turn Games has no accounts, no sign up and no login. There's nothing here to build a profile with, and the site never asks you for a name, an email address or anything else about you.
This page explains what does get stored, who else is involved, and what you can turn off.
Personal information
We don't collect any. There's no registration, so there's no name, email address, date of birth or anything similar attached to you.
If you email us, we obviously have your email address and whatever you wrote, because that's how email works. We use it to answer you and nothing else. We don't add it to a mailing list and we don't pass it to anyone.
If you send a bug report, it helps to include which game you were playing and what you were doing. That's a description of a game, not information about you.
What's stored in your browser
Four small values live in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They never leave it except as described under multiplayer below, and clearing your browser data removes them for good.
turngames.deck: which card design you picked.turngames.board: which table colour you picked.turngames.name: the display name you typed when joining a table, if you typed one.turngames.token: a random identifier generated on your device. It exists so that if your connection drops mid game you get your own seat back instead of somebody else's. It isn't linked to you, and clearing your browser data generates a new one.
None of these are advertising identifiers and none of them are shared.
Multiplayer tables
When you join a table, the display name you chose and the state of that game are held on Cloudflare's servers for as long as the table is open. Other players at the table can see your name and the cards you play, which is what a card game is.
Tables are deleted shortly after everyone leaves. Games aren't recorded and nothing about them is kept afterwards.
Solo games against bots run entirely in your browser and are never sent anywhere at all.
Aggregate statistics
We look at counts: how many people opened a page, which games get played, how often something errors. These are totals, not individuals, and they're used to decide what to fix and what to build next.
Log files
Like nearly every website, our host records ordinary web server logs. These contain IP addresses, timestamps, which pages were requested, and browser and device type. They're used for diagnosing problems and spotting abuse, not for identifying visitors.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It's a deliberately privacy focused product: it sets no cookies, doesn't fingerprint your device, and doesn't follow you to other sites. It reports totals, like how many people opened Hearts today, and nothing about you personally.
Cookies
Turn Games itself doesn't set advertising cookies. Your game preferences use local storage rather than cookies, as described above.
Our advertising partner does set cookies, and does so in your browser rather than on our servers. These are used to measure ads, limit how often you see the same one, detect fraud, and, if you allow it, choose which ads to show you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won't stop you playing anything here, and no game depends on them.
Advertising
The site is free and is paid for by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, and may use information about your visits to this and other sites to choose which ads you see.

Your choices
Personalised advertising. On your first visit you're asked whether to allow personalised ads, and you can change that answer at any time. Declining doesn't remove ads and doesn't change the games in any way; it means the ads you see are chosen without using your data.
You can also manage this for every site that uses Google's advertising, not just this one, at Google Ads Settings. More opt out options for other advertising networks are at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
Do not sell or share my personal information. If you're a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Turn Games doesn't sell personal information for money. Some advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under that law, and declining personalised advertising, using either the consent prompt or the Google settings linked above, opts you out of it. You can also email hello@turngames.io and ask, and we'll confirm in writing.
Your data rights. If you're in the UK or EU, the GDPR gives you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. Because this site holds no account and no profile, there's generally nothing to export or delete: the data described here is either in your own browser, where you can clear it yourself, or a game table that deletes itself when everyone leaves. If you think we hold something about you, write and ask.
Children
Turn Games is a general audience site and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material will be noted on the page rather than slipped in quietly.
