About us

Turn Games is a small site for playing classic card games in a browser. The goal is to make good versions of games you already know, with nothing in the way. No download, no sign up, no account, no loading screen. You click a game and you're playing.

Empty seats get filled by bots, so you never wait for other people. If you do want to play with friends, start a table and send them the link. Whoever opens it sits down.

The games

Around a table. Hearts is the one where you're trying not to win tricks. Spades makes you call how many tricks you'll take before you take them. Euchre is fast, uses a 24 card deck, and has two jacks that outrank everything. Cribbage is the two player counting game with the pegboard. Crazy Eights is matching suits and ranks until someone runs out. Go Fish is the one everybody already knows.

On your own. Klondike is the solitaire that came with every computer for years. FreeCell shows you all 52 cards from the start. Spider uses two decks and comes in one, two and four suit versions.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free? Yes, all of it. The site pays for itself with ads, which sit at the edges of the page and never cover a game you're playing.

Do I need an account? No. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into. Your card design and table settings are saved in your own browser and nowhere else.

Can I play with my friends? Yes. Pick a game, hit "Start a table" and send someone the link. Up to three friends can join most games. Any seat nobody takes is played by a bot.

Does it work on a phone? Yes. Everything here is built to work on a phone screen as well as a desktop, in portrait or landscape.

Does it work offline? Solo games do. Once the page has loaded, a game against bots runs entirely in your browser and never touches the network. Multiplayer obviously needs a connection.

Are the bots cheating? No. Bots see exactly what a player in their seat would see, and the shuffle is random. If a game feels rigged it's usually because you remember the bad beats and not the ordinary hands.

Can you add a game? Maybe. Requests genuinely do influence what gets built next, so it's worth asking.

Contact

Found a bug, spotted a rule we got wrong, or want a game added? Email hello@turngames.io and it reaches the person who builds the site. Most messages get a reply within a few days.

If you're reporting a bug, saying which game and what you were doing helps a lot. If it happened at a table with other people, the room code from the URL is useful too.
